Raymond (Ray) McKee
McKee, Raymond (Ray), (Late of Cabra, Dublin 7) - 20th of November, 2023, peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Care Choice Nursing Home, Finglas. Predeceased by his devoted wife Kathleen (Kay). Beloved father to James (Jim) and Philip and cherished grandfather to Amber and her partner Tom. Sadly, missed by his loving children, granddaughter, extended family and friends.
A Life Remembered.
Born in 1927, Raymond (Ray) McKee's life was a journey defined by a strong moral compass and a steadfast commitment to what he believed was right. He was often direct in his conversations, yet his approach was always softened by his inherent kindness, generosity, and a mischievous sense of humour that enlivened many discussions and endeared him to those around him.
An adventurous spirit from the outset, Ray's youthful explorations began on the humble seat of a bicycle, traversing far and wide. His sense of adventure blossomed in his later youth as he journeyed across a post-war Europe on his beloved Triumph motorcycle, with his best friend Bill by his side (and often riding pillion when one of the bikes broke down). These escapades not only shaped his character, and later business life but also wove a rich tapestry of stories. These tales, more often shared over a small glass of Jameson, revealed deeper layers of his adventurous spirit and his ability to find joy in simple pleasures.
Ray's deepest commitments were always reserved for his family. He was devoted to his wife, Kathleen (Kay), and embraced his role as a father to James (Jim) and Philip with immense dedication. As a grandfather to Amber, and a welcoming figure to her partner Tom, he extended his love and values to the next generation. In his final years, Ray was cared for by Amber with unmatched love and kindness, a testament to the deep bonds they forged together. Ray's influence, teachings, and the values he cherished will indelibly live on through his loved ones, a lasting testament to a life richly lived.
May he Rest in Peace.
