Very Rev. Fr. Frank Flynn O.M.I
Very Rev. Fr. Frank Flynn, O.M.I. Peacefully in in the wonderful care of the Nazareth Sisters in East Finchley, North London on the 16th January 2022 after a short illness. Born in 1935. Grew up in Cloonchambers Castlerea. Attended Belmount College Blackrock, Dublin 1952/1953 and read Philosophy. Entered Novitiate Sep 1953 Made Final Profession 1958 Incardinated into Diocese of Hallam. South Yorkshire. Ordained as Oblate of Mary Immaculate (OMI) in 1961 at Our Lady’s Scholasticate, Piltown Co Kilkenny. In 1965 took up a post at Tower Hill, Diocese of Westminster London; In 1969 took up a post in St Anne’s Church Rock Ferry Liverpool; During the 1970’s took up posts in Sacred Heart Church, Saint Aubin, Jersey, and in Cathedral of St John the Baptist, Norfolk; In 1980’s Fr Frank returned to Tower Hill Diocese of Westminster, London in the role of Parish Priest; In 1990 took up the role of Parish Priest in Church of the Holy Family in Chesterfield in Hallam Diocese South Yorkshire; In 2015 he retired as Parish Priest in Chesterfield and took up the role of Chaplain in Presentation Sister’s Convent in Matlock.
Predeceased by his parents Tom and Bea Flynn, sisters Maureen (Duddy) and Josephine Flynn, brothers Michael and Tom Flynn. Fr. Frank will be sadly missed and very fondly remembered by his brother Paddy (Ballaghderreen) and sister in law Kay, nephews, nieces, relatives, former parishioners and colleagues among the clergy, neighbours and friends.

Requiem Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Quex Road, Kilburn, London NW6 4PS Fri 11th Feb at 12.00pm
Burial Mass at Mary Immaculate Church, Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore, Dublin D08 C6TW on Wednesday 16th February at 12.00pm, followed by burial at the Oblate Community Cemetery.
